Understanding your parenting style

Numbers can give you valuable insight into your children's personality and potential, but did you know that they can also shed light on your parenting style?  When you understand how you operate as a parent, you can help your children get the best from you and you'll be able to guide them in a more empowered way.

Firstly you'll need to calculate your life lesson number by adding together all the numbers in your date of birth and breaking it down to a single digit.  For example DOB 4.6.1975 = 4 + 6 + 1 + 9 + 7 + 5 = 32; 3 + 2 = 5.  You are a life lesson number 5.  Here is a quick guide to what the numbers say about your parenting style:

Life lesson one parent
These parents are firm, positive and active.  They lead by example and have high expectations of their children.  They are ambitious and encouraging, however they often lack patience and follow through is needed.

Life lesson two parent
These parents are loving and nurturing, however they can be too soft and smothering.  They are highly protective but can lack the drive and initiative their kids need at times.  They can also find it hard to discipline their children.

Life lesson three parent
These parents love to interact, play and teach their children, however they have a tendency of over-promising and need to follow through.  They encourage their children but must remember to talk to them not at them.

Life lesson four parent
Rules and structure are important to these parents, but they often get too set in their ways with rules and tradition.  They provide well for their children and reinforce good values and morals but must be more patient.

Life lesson five parent
These parents are optimistic and generous. They don't like routine or responsibility and tend to expect too much of their children.  They have a tendency of spoiling their kids and sometimes overlook the obvious.

Life lesson six parent
These parents are loving and devoted, yet they can be too protective and clingy.  They are driven by feelings of love and try to keep the peace at all times.  They are easily sidetracked by the needs of other children.

Life lesson seven parent
These parents are cool, straight to the point and have high expectations.  They are spontaneous and people who don't like to conform.  These parents need to use their intellect to negotiate rather than to divide.

Life lesson eight parent
These parents are strong and know what they want.  They can have a temper but instil a sense of security with their children.  They expect recognition and respect, and encourage their children to focus on achieving their goals.

Life lesson nine parent
These parents can unwittingly project their fears, anxiety and worries on to their kids.  They have a psychological rather than practical approach, and need to set boundaries.  They are overprotective and sentimental.
